As the LMP body design continues to evolve, I needed to work out the most effective airflow management approach for the sidepod design.

Previous experiments showed that directing the airflow ahead of the rear wheels inward toward the diffuser helped rear grip. With these panels in place, I wasn't sure what impact enclosing the front splitter extraction inside a simple sidepod box would have, so mocked it up.

Running the car around on the street, it was clear that there was much more benefit in letting the front splitter breathe out the sides than in feeding the rear extractor. The final sidepod design will need to be very three-dimensional to purge airflow coming out the front extractor, allow internal flow through to the rear diffuser, as well as smoothing air flowing over the top surface toward the wing.
